In the forests of Chantilly’s valleys hide away the beautiful Chantilly White Limestone. A beautiful material which has light veins running through creating waves within the stone. The material is renowned for its elegant subtlety, as well as its ability to work in bathrooms and kitchens. From this material, Artscut has taken inspiration from this beautiful product, from which we have designed and called ‘waves’.
Waves boasts a white background, with subtle taupe, grey and cloudy waves. The material has a traditional touch to it, although, it will still complete any contemporary style kitchen. While being unique, the material is closely related to a Marble style.
Worktop Properties
Natural occurring quartz can be a little too brittle for our everyday kitchen uses because of it’s composition. The usual quartz worktops that are referred to in our society today are a combination of quartz mixed with a small amount of resin, usually between 5-7%, and a pigment to make the design. Artscut’s high-quality materials are then fused together under intense heat and pressure which forms beautiful, hardwearing worktops.
Natural quartz is an igneous rock with a composition of oxygen and silicon making it’s chemical formula is SiO2. After Feldspar, Quartz is the most abundant material within the earth’s crust. The transformation process from Silicone and Oxygen into Quartz is varied and that’s why we have so many different types. Amethyst, ametrine, rose quartz, carnelian, onyx, jasper, smoky quartz, agate, milky quartz and tiger’s eye are all examples.
Artscut Waves is an extremely durable stone. As a result it is resistant to staining and scratching and is extremely easy to maintain. In addition, unlike natural stone or wood, quartz worktops do not need resealing. It is one of the most popular quartz brands on the market. Available in 12, 20 and 30mm thickness means there’s an option for every use.
