Worktop Properties

Natural occurring quartz can be a little too brittle for our everyday kitchen uses because of it’s composition. The usual quartz worktops that are referred to in our society today are a combination of quartz mixed with a small amount of resin, usually between 5-7%, and a pigment to make the design. The transformation process from Silicone and Oxygen into Quartz is varied and that’s why we have so many different types. Amethyst, ametrine, rose quartz, carnelian, onyx, jasper, smoky quartz, agate, milky quartz and tiger’s eye are all examples.
